Day 01: Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Rose Valley – Dades / 6 hour drive

We will depart this morning from Marrakech at 9:00 a.m. and start traveling to Ouarzazate via the Tichka Pass (2260m) the highest road pass in Morocco. Stop to enjoy the panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains and magnificent landscapes, scenery peppered by small Berber villages typical of the region. Possibility to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou. This Kasbah is one of the most impressive and well-preserved fortress cities in Morocco. Built on a hilltop, Ait Benhaddou inspired many movie makers such as the Gladiator or Lawrence of Arabia was filmed here. The view from the upper heights of the Kasbah is awe-inspiring and worth the required climb through winding streets. Our travel continues along what is known as the Road of One Thousand Kasbahs passing the Skoura oasis. Then we continue to visit the Valley of the Roses the center of Moroccan roses and rose products. Acres of Persian roses are grown and harvested here to create rose water, creams, and soaps prized throughout Morocco and the world. We continue passing the marvelous rock creation of Tamnalt Hills. Day 02: Dades - Todra gorge - Erfoud - Merzouga desert / 4 hour drive

Today we will meet you at your hotel in Dades at 9H00am and start making our way to the desert camp. We will head onto Todra Gorges, a spectacular gash in the hills that surrounds Tinghir. The cliffs loom above as you approach the mouth of the Todra. Rising 300m, the honey-colored hues of the sheer face change constantly as the sun moves across the sky. Nomads can often be seen in the gorges. Many deserted Kasbahs, mud-brick villages, and green oases, dot the whole area: A photographer’s paradise! Then later on, the scenery will change yet again as we start seeing the first dunes from the road. The great "sand sea" of Merzouga city, a beautiful area of fine, apricot-colored sand stretches as far as the eye can see. Here we head off into the vastness of the dunes on a camel caravan accompanied by cameleers. The sturdy camel has been a mainstay of desert life over the centuries, being used to ship precious cargoes from Sub-Saharan Africa to the trading ports of the Mediterranean coast. You can ride or walk alongside as you slip into the pace of the caravan led by Berber guides and marvel at the awesome spectacle of the desert, solitude, and silence that comes with it. As the evening falls we will retreat to the comforts and luxury of our exclusive private desert camp where we will be greeted with mint tea and fresh dates or nuts. The camp is set in a beautiful spot between dunes and gives the impression of being alone in the vast African desert while enjoying the comforts of a nomad king. We will enjoy a delicious dinner followed by campfire time beneath the starry African sky. Nothing compares to the millions of stars, silence, and peacefulness of the Sahara. We sleep in luxury canvas tents feeling like we walk into one of the stories from The Arabian Nights. Night in the Camp - Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 03: Merzouga – Draa Valley – Marrakech / 9 hour drive

Morning wake up to enjoy the desert sunrise, then we will be treated to breakfast and take a shower before we leave Merzouga desert and drive back to Marrakech. Passing through the nomadic villages, the towns of Anif, Tazarine, and N’kob, as well as the beautiful Draa valley with its abundant date palms. Stop for a sightsee of thousand palm trees surrounded across the valley. Continue through the Atlas Mountains toward Ouarzazate and then finally reach Marrakech for a restful evening.
