Tour Highlights:
Today we will pick you up from your hotel in Marrakech at 8.am. And start our journey toward the High Atlas Mountains. Passing through the highest road of Tizi n’Tishka to enjoy the spectacular view of the Atlas Mountains. Continue to visit the UNISCO site of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. The world heritage site where many famous films made. Such as Game of thrones in 2011, Gladiator in 2000 and so on. Heading into the gateway of the desert; Ouarzazate city. Founded by local Frensh in 1928, pass through the way of Tizi n'Tinififft. And steep onto the lush palm grove of Agdz. After that we will walk over Tamnougalt Kasbah. Then drive along Draa valley till we reach Zagora.
Overnight in Zagora
After breakfast, we will explore the neighbouring Amezrou village. Where the historic Jewish quarter left behind the silver jewelry crafts and synagogue. Visit the library that includes many books of Qurans that printed on gazelle’s skin and the medicine, history and mathematics old work since 12th century in Tamegroute village. Next, we will have a short walk on the local furnaces to see the potteries. Our footsteps will take us from Zagora to M'hamid; known as the gateway to the desert where we will break for lunch and then continue to Erg Chigaga, driving into the famous Sahara desert for 2 hour off-road. As we reach the dunes. We will met our camel guide. After that, we’ll let the 4x4 and ride camels over the desert dunes through the sunset to reach our final destination; the desert camp where we will spend the night in a luxury tents with shower and bathroom.
Overnight in Erg Chigaga
Depart after enjoying the desert sunrise and start our final day toward Marrakech. Taking our 4WD and drive through the desert with varying scenery including Lake Iriki. Which is completely dry, casting the fata morgana mirage. Next, we will enjoy tea with nomad families. And go search for fossils from the Paleozoic age when morocco was an ancient sea. Then, we head over the hamada, the much stony desert, till we reach Foum Zguid.
Finally we leave the desert and get into the paved road. Here we will break for lunch at a local lodge or a casual snack in the village. Continue to Tazenakht, known for the beauty of its carpet weaving among the Berbers. Later on we will head into the High Atlas Mountains. Stop along the way to visit the cooperative of Argan oil. See how the fruit turned into the much-coveted oil. We will then arrive in Marrakech for a restful evening.
